Virgil Goode shows his ugly side again

January 3rd 2007 19:59
Rep. Virgil Goode is a man on mission, he will not stop until he spreads his message of hate far and wide. This seriously mis-informed GOP Representative from Virginia has shown, once again, how much he hates anyone who is a non-Christian(especially Muslims) through his Op-Ed published by USA Today.
Here is the link, if u are interested in reading it.

How he got elected and why the GOP is still keeping mum on this issue is beyond me. I have pretty low expectations from the Republicans when it comes to minority rights and immigration but this epsiode has proven that I shoudn't have ANY expectations. They will do whatever the lobbyists will pay them to do.Thats it. Just imagine if this attack had been against Jews or Catholics or Mormons. The whole nation would have exploded in condeming Rep.Goode. But since he is attacking Muslims, the protest is by far muted.

Rep. Goode advocated for the good old Judeo-Christian values but one begs to question, is taking money from lobbyists, getting paid to advocate for oil companies, Israel etc falls under Christain values..? Did Jesus call for corruption? I bet he didn't. So Mr. Goode why don't u launch a campaign against ur own party..? Clean ur house first, it helps.

Bhumika,

Glad you have a political mind, I haven't, but I do have a mind, that's something of a blessing, sometimes a curse, but I'm glad I've got it and know the difference.

Yes, I am rather sympathetic towards Muslims, they should not have to take the flack for an evil sidekick, Christians have such people too.

There are things that bother me about Islam, but similarly there are things that bother me about Christianity.

These are not easy things to cope with.

I don't believe these actions fall under Christian values as stated in the Bible, but unfortunately there will always be people who assume a religious stance, yet their behaviour is contrary to the values of their chosen religion. Sad but true...
