say hello to increased arms race in the Middle East

February 12th 2007 18:17
as if the present crises were not bad enough, the genius in me(?? questionable intelligence) tells that the arms race in the middle east is going to get worse. here is why:

israel recently successfully tested a missile, which "One of the missiles was fired at night and destroyed what Israeli media said was a target similar to Iran's long-range Shahab-3 missile." according to the BBC. aha!! so now what do u think Iran will do?? sit around and enjoy smoking huukah ? no. they will work on getting more arms, to save themselves.

then there is saudi arabia, sacred of Shia Iran. if Iran gets more arms, they will pout and stomp in front of grand daddies in Washington and demand more for themselves. there wish my friends will be granted.

and about others like jordan etc, well they will be forced to find some ways to defend themselves. i mean if israel, iran and saudi arabia in into scuffle, who is going to save them??

so there u have..a race to find something that can protect u from the enemies around. say hello to more terrifying times in the middle east.

Perhaps the Israelis fired the missile as a warning to its neighbours not to mess with them. I saw a good program the other night that showed young Iranis seem to be getting fed up with being dictated to. Perhaps they will prevail and throw out the old guard in exchange for liberty and freedom. If that is the case, Iran has no need to escalate an arms race. As for the other countries, maybe they will begin to see the light and if any more missles are built, there will only be enough for self defence and the matter would be at a standstill. I suppose we can only hope for cooler heads to prevail.

From my experience sabre rattling and arms races are usually a bad thing.
Sabre Rattling trades on fear and false courage and can lead to accidental conflicts. Someone may call the bluff.

Arms races are an insane determination to build a bigger bomb that that can kill more people. It usually end when one side goes broke before the other. In the process everyone spend money that could be used to help build nations.
