questioning head scarf row: height of hypocrisy
October 29th 2006 02:49
i swear i am ready to explode the moment i heard something about this "head scarf" row.
first of all, if you tout liberty and personal freedom then let the women decide. if they want to wear it, let them. personally, i am not a fan of the face covering veil but don't mind the the head scarf. dressing up is a personal choice and i can't stand people telling us women what to wear and what not to. we decide! final.
then there is the question of multi-culturism. hmm this is a tricky one. lets say u are a christian. you are free to wear the crufix sign, as a piece of jewelery. but then the multiculturism is suddenly is grave danger if a muslim woman decides to wear a head scarf?? please explain to me how on earth is ths possible?
let me say this again, personally i donot support the face covering veil. but someone wants to wear then it is their decision. we can allow women to pose naked for PlayBoy but a women who choose to cover her face is suddenly a danger to multicultural society? height of hypocrisy
