protesting gitmo and looking ugly..is it my fault
January 17th 2007 18:02
last thursday, 11 january, while Washington "celebrated" establishment of a black hole for prisoners in Guantanamo Bay, me and some of my like minded neighbours gathered in front of a local book store in protest
as u see in the picture, we are so few that u can actually feel sorry for us and yes it was freezing cold.
on my way home i looked at myself in a store's mirror, i looked ugly as usual. felt sorry for myself and the group. may be people who saw us went home thinking only ugly people protest.
whatever, we stood in cold screaming our lungs out and got few curious stares and some honks.i have no idea if it made any difference.. picture,

I have become aware that only today the US government have released the new terms for the so-called military justice commissions which will apparently try some of the inmates. I am currently digesting this information and will be writing a blog on this in the next few days.
I am sure that David Hick's father is very grateful for the protest you are staging and I will be posting details of your blog on the website they have established seeking justice for him so that they can see that they are not alone in their struggle to bring him home.
If that mirror could show your soul/ spirit it would show all beauty and kindness that you reflect to your fellow human beings.
Thank you from Australia and keep up the good work. Your actions restore my faith in Americans.

Good for you! You have a passion for your beliefs and you did something about it.
And, you are not ugly!
