A Political Mind - September 2008

Big Fight at NDTV

September 28th 2008 12:29
After Rajdeep Sardesai left NDTV,the "Big Fight" programme he hosted, lost the sting and insight mainly due to the naivety of the new host Bikram Chandra. But it was very watchable yesterday because all the Anti-Hindutva icons were present in full force there.Congress and BJP were represented too. However, the host ensured his best to cut short any BJP argument on some or other pretext.

An uniquely dressed lady journalist,Harindra Baweja, connected with Tehelka was clearly trying to outsmart other panelist Teesta Shetalvad. She must be envious of her as she clearly made herself a celebrity by continuously accusing ,Narendra Modi. The journalist in her determination to outdo Teesta was so melodramatic that it was joy to watch her act.

But she had not remembered her parting dialogue correctly and that one sentence was so utter disgusting that patriotic citizens would be ashamed that our country also has such pathetic souls loitering around as a journalist.

In defence of the terrorists she justified their murderous act and openly declared that "she too would have taken up arms" if she were a Muslim. She must have won many hearts by now for whom she performed !Now the reward will follow in equal measures.

It is not that she was young and was oblivious of the reaction of her mouthful of expression. On the contrary she was old and knew what she was talking about. She must be also aware about the consequences of declaring an open war against the state.

She must be counselled and provided every opportunity to amend herself otherwise every Tom,Dick and Harry would start emulating her short cut melodramatic method to gain instant stardom. All those who will follow her act would be not as fortunate as her and would attract suitable punishment which in this lady's case seems unlikely because she belongs to the J-Fraternity.It is very much possible that she did all these histrionics to propel her career faster and it was her deliberate "Brand Building" exercise. She was successful to some extent that for now on she would be remembered as the Rakhi Sawant,The Bold And Beautiful Bollywood Belle, of Indian Journalism.

WHAT WILL Dr Manmohan Singh do while the other Congress leaders are working overtime to wrap up an institution like the Congress Party as soon as possible?

The middle class, disenchanted by the foolishness of the Bhartiya Janta Party, was admiring the way the Prime Minister went ahead despite the very real danger to his government. But the party affairs managers of the Congress Party have thrown away this goodwill. They should have learnt their lesson from the Jammu agitation that the people of this country will no longer tolerate traitors and jihadi elements. But the Congress is not yet ready to learn and act tough against terrorists. When reminded of its duty, it starts accusing the BJP, and thus discredits itself completely.

Who will tell these semi-literate leaders that they have come to power and remained in power because they have kept their electorate poor and illiterate? That they win elections only by dubious means? Once the country is fully literate, future generations will wonder how these pathetic souls, not worthy of holding a peon’s job, actually led ministries and kept India poor and impoverished, serving their own selfish motives, for such a long time.

Despite bad leaders like Shivraj Patil, India as a nation has grown stronger and stronger. It is already a major economy of the world and hopes to be in the league of developed nations very soon.

Feudal Indian society bestows respect, somewhat scornfully, on those who possess power by any means. Yet politicians are the last in line, despite amassing unimaginable wealth through all possible means of corruption. That is the reason why, until now, whenever any bright, young politically inclined person shows intent to venture into politics, he becomes an outcast and is at the risk of being thrown out of his home. Sometimes his actions might cause a strong reaction from his parents. Not many venture into politics anyway, fearing condemnation and being looked down upon.

The strong apathy, particularly among the middle class of Indian society, leaves the political field wide open to be occupied and exploited by all kinds of people. There are very few politicians who are civilized and honest. There are still fewer who have survived the political grind and have left their distinctive mark. But for the majority of politicians, there are no appropriate words to describe them. And as for the present ministers, some are really outstanding.

Patil sank into oblivion after losing repeatedly. However, since he kept Congress "deity" Sonia Gandhi happy, she reciprocated his "chamchagiri," or sycophancy, by making him the home minister of India. She perhaps knew that giving Patil such an important ministry would be safe since he would do nothing without her prior permission. Mr. Patil went a step further, had dozens of suits made and enjoyed all the perks while doing nothing. But this act of benevolence on Sonia Gandhi’s part proved very costly to the nation, as the enemies of the nation interpreted these as soft measures. Terrorists became emboldened and spread their network throughout the country.

The very vociferous Member of Parliament Prabhunath Singh narrated an incident in the parliament that supposedly happened in the Harihar Nath festival some years ago. The month-long festival, also known as Sonpur Mela, is famous for cattle trade. Once, a trader asked Rs. 30,000 (about US $650) for a good, healthy cow. When inquired as to how much milk she could give, the trader replied that she did not give any milk but her good looks justified the price tag. Take it or leave it! After concluding, Prabhunath Singh suggested to Sonia Gandhi that the country deserved a minister who works and is accountable. But, being a seasoned politician, he knew that his request would be in vain.

The home minister is in very good company, since the two ministers of state in his ministry are always busy studio-hopping. They must feel very exhausted at the end of the day. Their agony must intensify when some ghastly incident takes place and they have to rush to that place to assess the situation.
"Narendra Modi" and the "Khandhar Hijacking" incidents are their answers to any query or question put to them. Ask them about police reform and they will start telling you how Narendra Modi is behaving like a dictator. Ask further about the repeated intelligence failures and they will cite the Khandhar incident.

The British left the shores of India six decades ago, but India has kept and preserved the same laws to govern the police force. Whoever is ruling wants to use the police as instruments of power. One has to buy a dictionary of political science before asking any question to them about police reforms. State lists, central lists, concurrent lists – all kinds of excuses are put forward and the standard response has been the same for decades now

Mumbai ,the financial capital of India is being ruled by a Mafia Don, Raj Thackeray. The police is at his service and can not even dare to question him properly. The whole Maharashtra government is on the back foot before him.It is said that the state Chief Minister,V.R.Deshmukh takes his order and would come to his house barefoot in the middle of the night if Raj Thackeray orderd him to do so.The whole Hindi film industry ,Bollywood, functions at his mercy and no one dares to question him or his bizarre demands.

The most famous film personality of India,Amitabh Bachchan is at his receiving end these days.Jaya Bachchan,a famous actress herself, uttered some innocuous words that "she would speak in Hindi" and this was enough to invite Raj Thackeray's ire because it is him only who decides who will speak what language in Mumbai .The court has been instructing him to restrain from unlawful activities. But the law of the land holds no meaning to this person because he is law unto himself.Raj Thackeray controls Maharastra and Mumbai with the help of his gang which he calls MNC.

What is MNC?MNC is Maharashtra Navnirman Sena headed by Raj Thackeray.Raj Thackeray is the nephew of Bala Saheb Thackeray, the head of Shiv Sena.Bala Saheb Thackeray threw out this fellow,Raj from his party and made his son Udbhava Thackeray the president of Shiv Sena.

Raj used the influence and organised many concerts to generate funds for Maharashtra Youths. Many famous and legendary artists like Michal Jackson and others performed in Mumbai. All the proceeds were pocketed by this fellow.Known for his strong arm tactics he,allegedly bullied builders and extracted millions of dollars from them forcibly.Otherwise how a person who was brought up by a relative, could amass so much wealth that he was able to bid for a property worth more than 100 million dollars and eventually bought that too.His criminal and anti national activities were ignored because mainstream political parties thought to use him against his uncle and ignored his criminal activities. The plan failed and this ordinary person gradually became a terror for peace loving people of Mumbai.

Raj Thackeray has been a nuisance for civil society but considering his dirty background everyone wants to avoid him. There is no popular backing to him but goons, petty criminals and thieves swear by him.Raj is there to bail them out in return of their support.Raj has come to their rescue on numerous occasions. When dozens of goons were arrested for molesting and looting tourist, this fellow rescued them in full public view.Police had no guts to defy his orders and book those culprits.

With support from these few hundred antisocial disgusting elements,Raj Thackeray aspire to become a politician. He has taken advantage of the fragmented Maharashtra Politics and has been overlooked by authorities till now.Emboldened by lenient action he has become complete mad and needs to be sent to mental asylum immediately.
Why this fellow is targeting Bachchan family?Obviously this joker knows to gain media attention. This gives him television coverage so like a true politician he tries to confront mighty and powerful.
Why he is not put behind the bar?The government of Maharashtra is pathetic. Can this be called a government which fear to take action against petty criminals, thieves, criminals and absurd elements like Raj Thackeray..Any other state government would have put this scum out of site already by now. This fellow is filthy and a blot on Hindu community.
A Criminal like Raj Thackerey must be arrested and his source of funding should be checked. He must be indulging in some serious and probably anti national activities to fund his political ambition.A goon like him must be chained.
