A Political Mind - January 2007

yes sounds weired but there is a man with considerable following, who says that liberal jews are feeding into the rise in antisemitism.

that man is Alvin H. Rosenfeld, English professor and the director of the Institute for Jewish Culture and the Arts at Indiana University in Bloomington. he, in an essay, said that liberal jews who criticize Israel are feeding into the rise in anti-semitism and anti-Israel sentiments.

hmm wow..i have nothing to say to him. i mean how can i reason with this learned professor, my humble MBA is nothing before his academic credits. but there is something about his lack of "democratic" sentiments. i guess he is in line to join the israeli government soon.

anti war rally: will freeze for peace

January 29th 2007 19:18
so friends the anti-war rally on thursday was great success..i mean getting around 50 people to protest war in very conservative west lafayette, indiana is HUGE!! so i congratulate myself and the others

from the water fountain at west lafayette we marched towards the courthouse. wind was chilling..the banner i was carrying was just blowing away. temperature was around 25 F so..it was really really cold..strong wind didn't help.

at the courthouse around 5 people were waiting for us. waiving pro war banners and the american flag. but this time..we were stronger than them. all they could do was take our pictures. they were the College Republicans..that is what i was told.

speakers from lafayatte area peace coalition and local students groups made speech about the war. we all clapped, it was great when the passing motorists honked or waved to us.

well i guess if the entire country would respond to anti-war message this way American troops will be out of Iraq very soon....

historians against the war

January 24th 2007 18:32
on monday 22 january we had a forum on iraq war here at purdue. it was good, filled with lively discussions. there i came across a booklet by "historians against war".

it had the infamous picture of an iraq prisoner being tortured by American soldiers. inside, details of how torture has been normalized in American prison and abu ghraib scandal. it was scary to say the least

yes folks time does seem to be changing. previously taboo subject of criticizing Israel (even when it made mistakes) is now more common and accepted, at least over the internet.

so when the almighty Alan M. Dershowitz showed up at gather.com with this 3 part series on how Jimmy Carter sold himself to the Arabs to write his recent book " Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid", i was ready to get going

this news is in BBC's website..CNN doesn't think it is important..so it has nothing to report about this murder. this Palestinian girl was killed when Israeli force started its "crowd control" measure near the village of Anata, where the Israelis are building a barrier.

i will not into further detail like how she was killed and what killed her, i know i will be wasting my words because this world is now engulfed by clouds of hate and indifference. if an Israeli is killed whole world would mourn but for an innocent Palestinian no tear is shed

last thursday, 11 january, while Washington "celebrated" establishment of a black hole for prisoners in Guantanamo Bay, me and some of my like minded neighbours gathered in front of a local book store in protest

as u see in the picture, we are so few that u can actually feel sorry for us and yes it was freezing cold

nothing to write about..i miss scandals

January 16th 2007 19:35
today my mind is just blank..i have nothing to write about. o boy!! how i miss the good scandal ridden days.

i could write about the Miss New Jersy USA-whatever debacle or Paula Abdul's drunken mess. but then i can see that one is amused. i mean did anyone had any expectation from Paula Abdul to set an example for a "good life"?? anyone expected Miss New jersy to be a "role model"?? no really. they are just people whole live for their 5 minutes of fame, so their lack of responsible behaviour is like "part of their job". so they are off the hook

today is a national holiday here in US..so like many people i wasted the day watching TV, surfing net and meaningless chat..but this day was meant to be a day to honor work of a great man. hmm..like so many i forgot that

anyway, here i am, finally back to my senses..today is Martin Luther King Jr day. holiday to remember his contribution to the Civil Rights movement in the US and the world. i really wish this day was not a holiday but a working day where people would go and work for a charity or a shelter or with kids. instead it has become a day to stay home and get lazy. sad

life in the Palestinian territory is hard by all accounts but the conditions have worsened gradually after Hamas was elected to form Government. all sorts of sanctions have made life hell for the regular people.

listen to the news, read papers u will know an edited version of life in the area. u never get to know how the people live through this or how they think about all that is happening

sunday is the day i read NY Times. not that the news on other days don't interest me, sunday i get enough time to read in between the line.

so there is a news about Teddy Kolleck, former mayor of Jeruslam, who died at age of 95 on Jan 2.read what NY Time has to say, "Teddy Kollek, who as mayor of Jerusalem for nearly three decades did more to build and develop the city as Israel’s capital than any other figure while promoting coexistence with a sometimes hostile Arab population, died Tuesday in Jerusalem".

Rep. Virgil Goode is a man on mission, he will not stop until he spreads his message of hate far and wide. This seriously mis-informed GOP Representative from Virginia has shown, once again, how much he hates anyone who is a non-Christian(especially Muslims) through his Op-Ed published by USA Today.
Here is the link, if u are interested in reading it.

yeah people the "i know all" evangelical man is indeed suffering from "foot in mouth" disease. why else would he say that God has told him about a mass killing which is going to occur in 2007. what does he think we are? GOP voters?

today's CNN has this news on his prediction and tells us why should we believe him, citing his "fairly good" track record of predicting stuff. o ya! as if he is good in preditcions. did he see last year that his rate of "senior moments" will sky rocket this year? whatever. i believe that pat robertson cannot be rescued, so let him talk out his disease
